 Basic Photo Editing

 

 My first step is too upload the photos to my computer then create two backups before any editing takes place.  With my working copy of the photos I perform the following:
  1. -Photo rotation
  2. -Center cropping
  3. -Item of interest cropping
  4. -Red Eye Removal
  5. -Horizon Leveling

During my first review of the photos I track which photos require advanced editing and would also be a good choice for digital art.

 

In this example of cropping, I removed the houses in the background.

 Advanced Photo Editing

 

 I use several photo editing programs and specialized affect plugins to enhance the photo's.

 I use a combination of mouse clicks, keyboard keys and voice command recognition software to  process the photo's.  Advanced photo editing includes fixing, removing or altering:

  1. -Artifacts
  2. -Distracting none points of interest
  3. -Facial blemishes
  4. -Hair out of place etc

In this example I removed the white sign that is evident on the photo on the left.

 Using the same programs listed above I create photo -digital art. Examples of this include:
  1. -Theme enhancement
  2. -Fades
  3. -Collages
  4. -Black and white / sepia specials with colored points of interest
  5. -Combinations of the above
  6.

Touch up and simple Editing

 

  

 Touch up editing includes:

  1. -Adding borders
  2. -Cloning out artifacts (in these examples the orange marker buoy's were removed from the water)

In these photos the border enhances the colour of the ladies dresses.

Timing:  Within 48 hours

 Within 48 hours after the wedding I set up a private webpage that the bride and groom can access through an email link I provide.  I will  add/ change photo's as I continue through the editing.   I like to keep the couple updated as I progress through the project.

 Slide Show

 

 

 

 The slideshow which is viewable on a computer or DVD player will consist of the following:
  1. -Several hundred photos
  2. -Transitions
  3. -Chapter access
  4. -35 to 45 minutes long
  5. -Set to music

 Final Package

 

Timing:  Within 1 week after wedding

First Toast

 The final package will consist of:
  1. -CD containing All photo's taken on the wedding day including the digitally enhanced art
  2. -DVD containing the slide show
  3. -Attractive Case cover
  4. -Many 4x6 5x7 and 8.5 x 11 Prints in an album
